I hope that someone can give me more info regarding RVOT. I am pregnant and was admitted to Cardio ICU begining October due to the following: I always use to have rapid heart rate intervals, but with my first pregnancy I was told it is due to a light barlow syndrome. I had this still after the birth, but it did not bother me because I did not believe it could be of any harm. With this pregnancy I had the same experience, but this time it worries me as I felt it coming more, especially mornings & evenings, feeling dizzy, and my ears felt warm after an "attack". So I contact the docter and he send me to the Cardiologist. When I got to his offices and they did a heart sonar & ECG my heart rate (resting) went to about 220 bpm - and I felt normal as this was not one of the worst "attacks" I had - I hardly noticed it, assuming that my body adapt to it. They immediately adminted me to ICU to stabalize my heart rate with beta blockers. They talked about no P-vawe and missing delta wave at time and and and but they told me I have WPW syndrome and need to be fixed via an ablation. I went home after the weekend - a week later they did a Holter ECG to see what my heart is doing over a period of 24 hours. Although I still got these attacks, it did not last as long as it used to. However, the docter told me later, after consulting with a nother specialist that I do not have WPW syndrome as he initially though but RVOT, but still needs to go for the ablation. Now my questions are as follows: Are the symtoms for both these condition so simular? The docter told me that RVOT is not as dangerous as WPW, but he changed my medication to 3x per day where it was 2x when he thought is was WPW. What are the risks of not going for an ablation. What are the risks of an oblation and do they put you out during the ablation, because some people told me that they have to do it while you awake so they can get the muscle causing the problems. How comon is RVOT, I believe I'm born with it and is it generic? Finaly - how can I be sure that it is just RVOT and not WPW?
