    Wood fence corners not square
Hi, I have another fence question.

We are are building a wood privacy fence. The side fence will not be exactly perpendicular to the front fence. So the angle at the corner will be greater than 90 degrees. (Probably about 100 degrees).

    Would it be better to
1: just make each section on the side fence (approx 11 sections, 7' 6" each) slightly off from straight (ie: instead of 180 degrees more like 179 degrees) or

2: should the side fence be straight and the corner take the full brunt (ca 100 degrees)

If (2) then what's the best way to attach the stringers (rails) to the post? Leave the post alone and miter the ends of the stringers? Use shims? Make cut outs in the post??

    Thanks,
    -N

Do not use shims, they will shortly rot. Miter the ends of your horizontals and maybe put a short 2X4 block under the horizontal for added support. I'd let both fences run straight and make the transition via the miter.
