What is the discusting smell coming up from my ground?

We had flood issues a couple years ago and have had a discusting odor coming up from the ground around the
The house. I believe that possibly ground moles had came up close to the house to escape the flood and didn't survive.
Could I have dead moles deteriorated in the ground, and if so, what can I do about it? We have a ranch house with a basement an attached garage and a basement. The odor is only around the three sides that have basement.

Are you on a sewer system or a septic tank/drain field system? Quite often septic tanks overflow resulting in marshy, smelly ground.

Is the odor coming into the basements at all? If so that might indicate a deterioration in your moisture barrier and decaying fill on the exterior of the concrete.
