can you use your power washer as a sand blaster?

How do you intend to get the little sand particles to come out of the nozzle? No, you can't do this as you will ruin the machine. It's made for water, not sand particles. A sand blaster cannot be used as a power washer either.

Sorry you are wrong twinkiedooter, they make a special wand just for sand blasting. what you do is buy a special sand basting wand, what it does, as the water passes though the want, there is a second hose from the wand to the sand supply, the moving water creates a vaccum that sucks the sand into the wand. It uses a special nozzle that is larger. This lowers the over all pressure of the water since it is a larger hole, but it allows more volume including the sand.

** also it can be used with speical backing soda that is used for blasting also. If you are concerned about toxic waste of the sand backing soda is used in many applications

Now for really really special applications ( and very costly) you can also use a dry ice blaster that uses dry ice

What will they think of next? LOL That's news to me. I always thought you could not interchange these items. At least back in the stone age where I'm from you couldn't! The last time I used a pressure washer or sand blaster was at least 20 years ago.

Here is one set up for about 400 dollars ( just blaster, not including the pressure washer) sandblaster, sand blaster

Now normally you really want to use a belt driven pressure washer with these since you get a more constant pressure flow.
