I am moving to land that has no modad/septic system. How much does that cost?
I am moving a new mobile home. The land has never been lived on so I have to put new water lines, light pole, and a modad/septic tank in. How much will it cost if I buy whatever I need and do it myself?

You most likely won't be able to do it yourself legally... because it will have to be designed and built by someone that knows what they are doing based on the existing soil conditions... I assume the land has passed a perculation test... and that a septic systen CAN be installed... some ground just can't support a septic system.
And how much that all cost is very subejective to all those factors plus the prevailing labor rates for the area. Nobody can even guess without knowing all of those factors. There is a lot more to it than digging some holes and dumping in some gravel and pipes and a tank... |

I don't know that you can erect a power pole yourself either, let alone hook up your own service. That's high voltage work my friend (maybe if you were a lineman, but even then I don't know that you could ). In regards to the water lines, is there a well? Will you be tapping in to a city/county system? I don't know that you can do that yourself either...

Most areas in the U.S. require that a Certified Electrician sign off that the wiring and hookups meet building codes before the power company will turn on the juice. Smoothy is correct about the soil and septic issues. Your best bet will be to contact the County Extension Agent for a list of requirements. Yes, you can save a bundle by doing all the digging and preparation yourself, but some things absolutely MUST be verified by professionals, both for your safety and your neighbors'.

We don't even know if the town zoning will allow your mobile home on the land, what the well drilling situation is, how far the nearest electric line is, and what you are allowed for septic, depending on a town inspector examining the site (at the very least). If you want to tell us the steps you have taken so far, maybe we can give advice without shooting in the dark.
