College Graduation Invitations

Hi,

Some colleges ask for limited seeting (6 people) at graduations. When sending college graduation announcements, how do you let people know someone is graduating but that they can't come to the ceremony because of limited seating? Isn't it rude to send an invitation knowing they can't come to the ceremony?

Thanks.
