No compete and right to work

I signed a no compete clause when I purchased a restaurant. The restaurant went under - well, I turned it back to the previous owner because we could not geneerate sufficient income to make ends meet. Now I am trying to find ANY sort of work to feed my family for the next 6 weeks or so until we move to another state. The only thing I've found is delivering pizzas for a place about a mile from the restaurant in question. the no-compete clause was for a 10 mile radius. Can someone actually stop me from feeding my family? By the way, the restaurant had mainly a delivery business. I want to do what is right, but we have to eat.
