good guy treated wrongly

I am writing to see if anyone can help me to find out if i have any legal rights?I have been employed at my job since Jan, 2006 I have been a good employee always at work and do wht i am yold with no complaints even when I worked 10 hours with only a 30 minute lunch break.I got sick with chrones disease(intestinal disease) and started missing work. we repeatedly asked for all the dates that i had missed so that my dr. could write a excuse for ALL days missed but my job kept putting me off. finally i got so sick that i was put into the hospital. finding out while there that i had a blockage and needed surgery.while having my surgery i received a letter informing me about cobra insurance.thus, assumion i was terminated. i have never been written up or even notified that i was terminated now my former employer is saying that iwas no call/ no shows which is a complete lie. therefore they do not want to pay me my unemployment and this is wrong.what can i do? they legally cannot fire me i do not think? please help i have a family to support and my job screwed me please help if you can

The unemployment agency can give you an opportunity to appeal your judgement. Have you tried that yet?

Also, talk to your doctor about getting copies of your medical records to prove absences from work with the dates.

I'm not really sure what else you can do, but good luck to you!
