| ethical scenario Hi experts I have a case study and I need all the ethical issues related with this case study and recommended actions.
Case Study( Scenario)
Your organisation has won the business to complete a major systems development
project. The client has made a decision to change hardware platforms. Their MIS
staff will acquire skills and knowledge in the new development environment by
working with your team on the project. When the project is complete, the client's MIS
staff will take over the maintenance.
Part way through the project, you realise that the client's staff will not have acquired
sufficient knowledge to be independent when the project is complete. You prepare a
plan to rectify this, and ask your management if you can propose it to the client as a
variation to the original contract. Although it involves an increase in the present
budget, you know that if the client does not take these steps, they will have to
continue to buy assistance from your employer after the project is completed. Your
management tells you not to present the proposal to the client because it will be
financially advantageous to them if the client remains dependent.
What do you do? |
