Does anyone know of a boy went missing in the early 40's or 50's?

Searching for an animated cartoon seen on the "Junior Frolics" show of the 50's with Fred Sayles - possibly a stop-action type animation featuring ants and a snail. The snail, as I recall, had bulldozer type treads for locomotion.

well known attractive male & female stars. He is a (coal?) miner; his wife is a saucy type, and her mother is Indian. Black & white film. By looks of her clothing (peddle-pushers) , it's 50's

It's about a guy who has an angel in his backyard tree...he keeps trying to convince people of it, and finally I think his wife figures out its true. The angel can't leave the tree, why I cannot remember. It's black and white, and I remember seeing it about 35 years ago. Any ideas?
