trouble reading email attachments!

trouble reading email attachments!

HI THERE,

Lately i have been unable to read my email attachments, i can download them fine but it just comes up as mess of numbers that makes no sense - i guess it's some sort of script issue.
I think it's just a simple problem - as it occurred after my partner changed some of the security settings (on XP), but i have been unable to figure out what exactly i need to do to fix it - HELP PLEASE????
