Lost compacted emails

[Where can I locate my emails after they have been compacted? I am using Outlook Express 6. thanks for any help anyone can give

I'm not sure if this will really help you, but you might want to give it a try. I don't know where the emails really go after they have been compacted, since I have never compacted mine. However, I have gone looking for old email files in a computer that I have had. I was told to do a search for .dbx files. That is how I found them.

After that, I had to download a free .dbx file converter in order to open them.
