| | | Can send but not receive in Yahoo Hi all
Have not receiving emails in Yahoo since August! Have tried sending from alternate email accounts- which initially say message has been sent, before receiving failure delivery message - but no messages received in Yahoo.
Can still send emails.
Don't know if it's relevant, but had previously tried setting up account to check email from my Hotmail account (via Mail Options --- Mail Addresses --- Mail Accounts), which didn't work. Have subsequently removed this, but still not receiving emails.
Help! | | | | | | |

| Are people replying to your emails or are they typing in your emaill address and getting undeliverable errors? |

| I just sent you an email. It went through as "Sent" and I have had no faliure delivery message to say it has not gone through.
I have had problems receiving emails before. It always turned out to be the very simple thing. People were putting @yahoo.co.uk - instead of @yahoo.com. So in your case people could be putting yahoo.com instead of @yahoo.co.uk.
Let me know if you did receive my email - you should have done. |

| Hi, Anka,
I use Outlook Express with a dial-up telephone line, through an Internet Service Provider.
My wife and I started getting the "failure delivery message" and also another message about "will retry for 30 hours" !!
After about 2 months of calling the ISP HelpDesk, finally a "good" tech found the problem. We had to change our "outgoing mail server" ID to something else.
We could not send from our home computer to Yahoo, until we changed it.
The setting was under Outlook Express when opened. It was then under Tools, Accounts, Properties, then the Servers tab.
I don't know if this is your problem, but it might help in some way.
Best of luck. |

| Fred,
As Anka is using web-based email she does not have access to changing the pop or smtp server settings. Just a heads up. |

Pay to call ScottGem for advice ($.75/min) | The one thing you haven't told us is the reason for failure. I'm assuming you are getting a Mailer Daemon return mail informing you of the failure. That mail should list a specific reason.
Also are you able to log into your Yahoo account and get to the mailbox? |

Also are you able to log into your Yahoo account and get to the mailbox? | she can get into her inbox ok, and she can send emails, she was just having trouble receiving. She was trying to send herself emails from her other accounts and was receiving Failure delivery messages.
I sent her one though and I did not get a failiure delivery message.
I am just waiting for Anka to respond and let me know if she got it ok. |

I am just waiting for Anka to respond and let me know if she got it ok. | I read thru the thread carefully before posting my response. I just double checked it to make sure. No where was it specifically stated that she was able to log into her Yahoo mailbox. There was a reference that indicated you might have gotten an e-mail from her, but I have no clue whether its from the address that's the problem or not. All that was referred to was sending mail from other services and getting a delivery failure. Also nowhere was the EXACT message mentioned, which might give us a clue as to why the e-mail may be rejected.
I'm also waiting for Anka, to respond with the information I asked for so that I may be able to give some more definitive help. |
