email folders/files from computer to computer

I have just purchased a new computer and have successfully imported the address book from old to new. But I'm having no success with transferring email folders/thier contents.

Mail client: old computer is Outlook Express [running on XP Home Ediiton], new computer is Outlook 2007 [running on Vista Home Premium].

I cannot find how I transfer folders of emails from old Computer to new computer. I have several folders where I stored emails which are folder type = dbx.

Can someone help with step by step instructions on how to get these files into folders in my new computer.

Thanks

Dennis

The files your looking for have an extension of .pst.

See Where is my Outlook "PST" file located? - Ask Leo!

If you need to merge files of the same name transfer them. Rename them. Then within outlook merge the items.

There may be other ways. I don't remember if you have to import them.

I've only mucked with .pst files a few times. Once or twice to repair the database.

Yep, I agree. They appear to be hidden.
