I AM UNABLE TO OPEN AN ATTACHMENT WHICH HAS PPS.

My system Windows XP

Email Monzilla Thunderbird.

Do you have PowerPoint installed?
Is this the only type of attachment you cannot open?

I do not have power point installed.

I do not have any problem opening other attachments, this one is an animated one with audio sent to me by a friend.

ScottGem agrees: The PP viewer is free. You should be yelling at your friend for sending you something before checking whether you had what was needed to open it.
RickJ agrees: Yep. You can't open a powerpoint file unless you have powerpoint, or the powerpoint viewer, installed.
