Outlook Express attachments

I am running Windows XP Home and Outlook Express 6.0. I cannot open the attachments that come with my E-Mail. How do I open these attachments. Thank you Fred  NJ USA.

Fred, if you have anti-virus software installed and properly updated when necessary, it may block any attachments with OE .eml extension, because a lot of viruses hide in that extension.

On the other hand, if your anti-virus software is not blocking it and you still can't open it, then try these sites to fix the problem or do a search for eml extension :

In Outlook Express go into: Tools, Options, and under the Security Tab look for the statement that says: Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus and if the check box has a check in it uncheck it. Be very careful about opening attachments in there though, you wouldn't believe the problems I have had with viruses since using Outlook. Make sure you have a good virus checker. Hope this solves your problem.
