Take 6 for example, it has factors 1, 2, 3 and 6, since they can divide 6 completely.
while 6, 12, 18... are multiples of 6 since 6 can divide them completely.

Factor of a given number can always divide a quantity without a remainder.
Multiple of a given number can always be divided by the quantity without a remainder.

As far as similarities are concerned, they are all discussed in the range of integers and they are all multiplication matters.

hope these make sense.
