tune a tv

I have lost my remote control for my Goodmans 14 ins tv/dvd combi I have tried to by one from Goodmans and from an internet site but the replacements they have sent do not work well enough for me to re-tune the set, IE buttons on replacement do not do the corret job and Menu button does not work at all. Is there any other way I can tune this TV
