remote control effect on other services

The problem is that the remote control I use to control lighting synchronised with musis has a bad effect on other nearby services either because the transmitting band is wide or the signal power is vey high. I need to investigat how to modify the remote controller to stop annoying other services. I have a spectrum analyser but I do not know how to identify the transmitting band and then try to filter out the unnecassary band. Any one can help?
