Philips projection tv

I need help or information to help me fix my philips projection tv, the color is all messed up, the whites are too bright and the other colors are only purple and pink.... Does anyone know if there is an adjustment for this? Thank you for any information..

Sounds like you color guns are shot. Unless you know how to service the TV, get your hands out of the box. You stand a very good chance of lobotomizing the TV.

Can you read a schematic? Do you have the proper tools and test equipment? Have your children been helping you adjust the picture?

Does a previously viewed DVD play properly? If you are inside the back of the TV, unplug it from the outlet and scan each board for cold solder joints or fried (burned) resistors or caps.

I agree with Don. If it is an old CRT projection system, it might not be worth repairing. If it is those new LCD or DLP rear projector tv's, the maybe there's is something else going on. But Don's right you could labotomize the TV and turn yourself into a fried thanksgiving turkey, so be carefull. Even unplugged, parts in the tv can still hold a lot of voltage.

I think that I may have used the incorrect words when I posted my question, I did not mean that I was going to fix the tv myself, I just wanted information on where to take it or if it was worth fixing or if there was an easy adjustment that I could do to fix it myself. I wouldnt even think about opening the back of it....and no, I can not read schematics. Thank you for the replies, it is nice to know that if I was doing it myself there are people who would help me...

Az,

Never fear, I will always stand behind you! You are my shield By the way, welcome to our little community.

If you are looking for a factory authorized Phillips Service Center, please go to Philips.com click on service and when you get to a search screen, plug in the model number of your TV and see what pops up for you.
