no sound while watching television.sound when playing video games

I have no Idea what the problem could be, but if I try to watch televsion, which is cable, I cannot hear the sound on the television, but If i play video games, then you can hear the sound perfectly...So, it cannot be a problem with the speakers inside the television..Could it be the cable? What else do you think?

Could be red and white rca from cable box. If no cable box, a little strange, as on Coax from cable company has audio and video(If you lose audio, you lose video)
Double check menu setting for speakers if any. Do you have cable box?
