karaoke system

Iam a disabled verteran ??? who is looking to put together a karaoke system to use at the local VA's and at other functions. I am trying to find out what I would need to put together a professional type system and not one that just sounds tiny. I don't know if I need a mixing board or echo systems and what sort of Karaoke machine to try to purchase, also if anyone knows if there is a way to copy the karaoke discs either off a
recorder or off the web. Thanks for any info and input.
