Garage Door opener missing

I recently lost my remote to the garage door. I need to get into the garage. How do I do this without destroying the garage door?

Contact the garage door manufacturer and see if you can't get another remote for the door. Otherwise a hatchet will do just nicely I've heard.

You cant get another remote without the serial number off the main motor housing on the ceiling of the garage.

Does your garage have a window? Crawl in the window and get the serial number off the opener and get another remote. Or better yet, call a garage door repair person and have them come and open your garage door.

If you can get into the garage through a window, but need to open that big door, most garage openers have a terminal strip for adding remote push buttons.

Short the proper terminals and presto - opened door. Then work on obtaining a new remote.

Sometimes if a Garage has a common attic with the house, you may be able to go through Scuddle Hole, over to Garage and Down the pull down ladder?
