dvd/satellite receiver

I would like to know how to hook up my dvd player through my satellite receiver. The TV does not have any place to plug the red, white, and yellow cords to but the satellite receiver does. I have connected the dvd player to the satellite receiver I just can't get a picture.

why you want to connect thru a dvd (player only) ** it could be done with the recorder, because the player doesnot have the input signal....... you could connect the receiver directly into the tv by using the black cable that come with the receiver, but if you tv is too old (25 year+) you may need a special adapter
