Connecting dvd recorder, cable box and satelite box to tv.

I have a Sharp LC-20SH3U tv and I'm trying to connect Philips DVDR3575H/37 DVD Player/recorder with digital tuner, cable box and satelite box. I've been trying to connect it through A/V selctor with 3 inputs. I got so confused that I will really appreciate some help with this set up.
