Can you recommend a good and cheap video camrecorder ?

Sony , JVC, or any other brands ?
I need to use it for recording while traveling in China. Can take pictures and video recording.

Well, this may be a once in a lifetime experience. You should probably not skimp on the price of the camerea and purchase the best camera that you can afford. you would not want to get back and say, if you look really close you can make out the face of the statue in the photo, i zoomed as much as i could. remember, you get what you pay for.
