am radio

We have a Nissan Sentra (1994). The car radio has been fine until a short time ago. Now there is strong static on all the AM stations; the FM stations are clear. Does anyone have a simple solution to this problem? thanks -sonoma

Re: am radio

most likely a battery problem in your car, you might find that when you rev your car the sound comes through the speakers of your car revving, not the actual sound but of there being interferance, let me know if im wrong or if this makes sense???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: am radio

This old problem is far more likely to be caused by a condenser gone bad, a loose ground, or even the antenna wire being moved too close to something, than the battery.

I don't bother with almost 2 year old questions unless somebody else digs one up.

Re: am radio

Thanks for the help. Actually the Senatra is sold . Will remember your suggestions in case we have this problem again. (Cannot believe I got an answer after 2 years!) Sonoma
