Wiring 2 Gang Switch - Light & Fan
My husband has just tried to replace a 2 gang switch with a new one, but can't remember where the wires went!

On the left it has L, L1, L2 & on the right it has the same. There are 2 red wires & one yellow one. The old switch also had a small piece of cable that was connected to the switch at both ends.

Can you explain where these wires should go? It's for the bathroom light & fan.

    Thanks,

    Hannah

This is 2 gang switch plate. 2 gang means two devices, side by side, on separate straps

This is a stack switch, it is two devices on one(single gang) strap

The stack switch is what you should be using if you only have a single gang box

Please post a picture of your switch if you can
