    Hampton Bay 54" ceiling fan
We gave a Windward II 54 inch ceiling fan we had installed in our bedroom a couple
Of years ago. Purchased at Home Depot. We use it as a light and use the fan in the summer. All of a sudden it stopped working from the remote. Replaced the battery and
It still doesn't control the fan though the remote itself shows the temp and seems to be
Working. We can make it go using the wall switch the light works but the fan also goes at
Full speed and no way to stop it.
Can't seem to find the Hampton Bay company. We need the light and don't know what to do.

Take the whole fan back to Home Depot for a full replacement under warranty. Or exchange it for a fan that won't break down as much, like a Hunter.

The motor has a lifetime warranty everything else a year. We are in our 70s and would have to hire an electrician to take it down. I noticed people writing about led lights on the
Remotes. There is none showing on our remote though temp etc. seem to work, just not the fan.

The whole fan should be covered.

Chances are it is an issue with the remote receiver so either way the fan will have to come down. If you want to try to repair it, contact Hampton Bay for replacement parts.
