Hampton Bay fan with LED light
I recently purchased a "Hampton Bay 52 In. Edgemont" fan (model nbr YG177-CLP) and after installation, found to my dismay that the LED light kit it comes with is dismally dim. I wish I had done more research beforehand, because this isn't a technical problem, the lights themselves are just normally dim. When I called the company they said it was normal, and they said there are not any brighter light kitsfrom them that could be interchanged with it. I know normal ceiling fans the light fixture can just be swaped out, but I don't know if the LED's make that impsossible. Can anyone help?

Razor is correct. You're stuck, unless you exchange the fan.

    LED technology isn't great yet.

Not necessarily... I was having the same issue with this ceiling fan. The light can easily be configured to use regular bulbs of CFL bulbs. Here is a link to how to do it.

    ButtryNet

    Basically it consists of:

    1) Turn power of to the circuit at your breaker box to avoid killig yourself.
    2) Remove the entire lighting assembly from the fan
    3) Locate and remove the AC/DC converter (it's a little black box)
    4) Hard wire 2 or 3 (I used 3) pre-wired chandelier sockets (in parallel) to the wires that previously powered the AC/DC converter.
    5) Insert bulbs into sockets.
    6) Tuck bulb/socket combinations into the glass globe.
    7) Reattach the glob to the lamp.
    8) Let there be light!
