Running two 100 amp main panels from a 200 amp service single lug meter
I have a 200 amp meter with single load side lugs. Presently my house is tied to these lugs. I'm building a remote garage which will require a 100amp feed. Tieing the house to the garage is not doable due to the location of the driveway. I would like to have the existing 200 amp meter feed into a Lug box. Load lugs (A) would feed my house with 100amps while Load Lugs (B) would feed the garage. I'm unable to find a lug box, sub meter panel or subpanel for this application. Is this legal and if so what is the official name for this type of outdoor service rated panel?

Your best bet is to find a 200 amp meter socket with a 200 Amp main and provisions for two 2 pole breakers, such as the one from Midwest I provided.

You will need to consult with your utility to determine what types of meter socket they require.
