    Restoration of old electric fan
I purchased an old fan, pluged it in, or attempted to plug it in-sparks came out of the wall
Plug-in and left black soot around the entry holes. I begin to dismantle the fan and an
Object I'm not familiar with ----copper wires wrapped around in a coil-the electric wires
From the fan are connected through the object. I need help telling me what to do or better
    Yet a diagram! Thank you!

    Hi, newlearner!

Is it a fan that can be placed on a table or floor, please? Also, as has been mentioned, what is the make of the fan?

    Thanks!
