Instructions should say, I think around 4 or 5 strings may blow fuse.
Have fuses handy, extension cord to carry on may be needed.

Well, it all depends on the number of bulbs in each strand and the size of the fuse. When you buy a new string there is usually a statement pf how moany of this same kind can be strung together, 5 is pushing it in my experience.

KISS, I read the link but not sure it answers the question but then maybe I'm the one who misunderstood. I think Gpeades was asking about the small fuses found inside the plug of a string of lights rather than the fuse in his panel. Gpeades wasn't specific about what size light so it left us with one too many variables. What do you think?

I've never seen xmas lights with integral fuses, but then again, mine are old. Besides the xmas lights don't seem to daisy chain. They each have to have their own power source. So, unless he's going to splice, I took it as a 15 A circuit. Your also right that there are too many unknowns, hence the link.

I know what you mean. I was picturing the small Italian lights that can be strung together, male on one end and female on the other. Those do have intergarted mini fuses inside a small trap door on the male plug. This type of light can be strung up to three strings togetehr before the mini blows.

All of mine have the internal fuse at the plug, and I can get three of the long ones, ( 100 blub) and have done 4 sometimes, but sometimes it blows also.

If you are talking about a house hold fuse, I have run 20 or more strands off one home circuit breaker.

** I have run over 100 strands at my home not counting trees, reigndeer, and santas'

My cousin had over 100,000 lights at his house. He used a separate sub-panel.
