Safe use of outlet

Is it Code safe to use a 15A, 250VAC outlet for a 10A Circuit Breaker?

tkrussell Electrical & Lighting Expert Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 4,561	Yes. What you will accomplish is derate the circuit and outlet down ot 10 amp. Never any problem with that.
