Minka ceiling fan

Asked Feb 26, 2009, 06:10 PM — 6 Answers
Hello, My name is Pete and I am stumped. I put up a Minka ceiling fan and it came w/ a wall control to power both the light and fan. I wired it per instructions and reset the frequency for the wall control, turned the power on, held the button per instructions. Some lights came on the control for a few seconds and then all died. I found a post where someone had changed the fan leg to connect to the common line and it worked fine but that post never addressed the wiring up in the ceiling at the fan. The fan leg is left unconnected. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Jakester, Thanks, yes, there is a black, red, and white in the ceiling. I used the red and capped off the black for this controller

Try it on the white and black and cap the red, see if that makes a difference.

Do either of you know how to reset the frequency? I have 3 of these in 3 nearby rooms, and one wall control affects all 3. I want to separate them.

I thought those had DIP switches, you will have to change the code in the receiver and the transmitter to match for each area.
