MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers) are intended to give protection against overloads and short circuits, which can prevent damage to cables and equipment.

MPCBs (Motor Protection Circuit Breakers) are intended to give protection against overloads and short circuits & Motor protection function.

MCBs are essentially used to protect cables, MPCBs are used to protect motors, so in addition to the short circuit protection they have trip curves suitable for motor protection..
