Light on ceiling fan always on, doesn't turn off.

Light on ceiling fan always on, doesn't turn off.

Had to replace halogen light bulb, but replacement westinghouse bulb for burned out Phillips 100Q/CL/120V now always lit, on off button no longer works -- always on.

ceilingfanrepair Electrical & Lighting Expert Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Madison, WI Posts: 3,465	I'm assuming it's a remote fan . . . the receiver shorted when the bulb blew. Pretty common. You'll need to replace the receiver. What make is the fan?
