Light on ceiling fan always on, doesn't turn off.

Had to replace halogen light bulb, but replacement westinghouse bulb for burned out Phillips 100Q/CL/120V now always lit, on off button no longer works -- always on.

I'm assuming it's a remote fan . . . the receiver shorted when the bulb blew. Pretty common. You'll need to replace the receiver. What make is the fan?
