Installing a hunter ceiling fan & light control to operate my fan w/light
I just replace my kitchen light with a new ceiling fan w/light. I now was going to try to install my hunter ceiling fan & light control switch. The switch has a black, blue and red wire w/green ground. The wall outlet has a black, red and white wire with ground.

I just wasn't sure which wires to hook up to get things to function properly (without a bunch of trial and error.)

    Can you help?

It sounds like the original switch was a three way meaning if that switch were turned off, another switch in some other location(usually in the same room but on a different wall near a doorway, would turn the light on and vice versa. I do not believe that a fan/light control and switch can be wired that way.

There should be a wiring diagram with the new switch.
