How do I wire a remote controled ceiling fan, with light?

Asked Dec 28, 2008, 07:17 PM — 2 Answers
What does ac-n and ac-l on the wires mean in electrical connections of a remote control ceiling fan with a light? I have lost the wiring instructions for a ceiling fan with light. The markings on the wires are (black - motor), (blue - light), and (white - com). There are also 2 other wires on the control to be wired up, 1st one is (red) with ac-l printed on it and the other is (white) with ac-n printed on it. I have no idea where these two wires should connect. . Isure would appreciate help with this problem. Thanks very much in advance

Ac-n is AC-Neutral or white
Ac-l is AC-LINE or black

Basically power.

The "black" will likely be part of a switch loop, so it could be two black wires. The line side is switched. Power is usually in the fixture. The wires run from the switch are usually what & black.
