How do I remove this old light fixture?
Replacing a light fixture, and I can't figure out how to get the top part off the ceiling. No apparent screws in the middle or on the rings. Will turn some in either direction, but don't want to break it. There are tiny little globes where there might be screws underneath, but have been unable to pry those off or unscrew them with a needle nose. Ideas? Here's what it looks like:

hkstroud: thanks. I had tried that, but couldn't get it to turn. Was afraid of damaging the finish if I gripped too hard on those nuts. I tried gripping with needlenose, but wouldn't budge. Any tip on that?
