Harbor Breeze wiring with remote

Hi All,

I'm having installed a harbor breeze fan/light with remote. The electrican says I can only have one light switch which operates both light and fan if I want to use the remote. I feel that I can have two switches one for the light and one for the fan, my thinking is as long as there is power to the fan or light the remote will work, it doesn't matter how its wired. Am I completely wrong ? Or is the electrician ?

Thanks in advance for your responses...

Mike
