Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Light Kit
I'm replacing an old ceiling fan. The fan was controlled by the pull chain and the light by the wall switches (2 three-way). The new fan is a Harbor Breeze. Installed it, the light works with either 3-way switch. The fan works fine on all speeds. However, when the fan is turned on with the light off via the wall switches, the light bulbs come on but are dimmed at varying levels based on the fan speed. Is this a wiring snafu in the light kit?

No, sounds like it is wired wrong. What make was the old fan?

Does the light work if the fan is off?

Thank you. I had purchased 3 fans with light kits for three separate rooms. Installed one of the remaining two in this arrangement, and the light works fine with the two 3-way switches with the fan operating using the pull chain with the light on or off. Will try the first one in one of the other planned locations and if the light continues to be a problem, it will be returned. Thanks again...

Make sure the wiring is exactly the same in the one that does not function as the one that does. You didn't answer my question either.
