    Hampton bay wiring schematic
I have a Hampton Bay Brookedale model ceiling fan. It was originally installed in the Master Bedroom, but as its 60 inches, I took it down to put it in the Family room. Unfortunately I didn't pay that close attention when I took it down to the wiring. Right now it is in the Family Room, but only the lights are working. Does anyone know what I may have done wrong. I connected 2 white wires from the fan to the white wire in the ceiling, black wire from fan to black in ceiling, green (ground) from fan to copper in ceiling, and blue from fan to red in ceiling. I'm wondering if I need to take the motor apart to see if something disconnected... Can anyone help please, thanks

Why is the lighting part of my celing fan not working? There are two loose wires inside of the lighting fixture one is black coming from the plug that connects the lights to the fan assy. The other is a purple wire coming from a little black box. The light does work if I only pull the cord halfway and sometimes that doesn't work. This is a Hampton Bay celing fan light fixture. Thanks, jarhead
