    Hampton bay light flickers
    Hi,

I just installed a Hampton Bay ceiling fan/light fixture, and the light flickers a bit. This is a unit with a wall switch remote with receiver in the canopy, and the bulb is a 100w halogen. I suspect the receiver unit is causing the problem, but wondered if anyone out there has an idea? We had a ceiling fan/light installed in the same spot previously and that light did not flicker, nor do we have a problem with anything else in the house flickering.

    Thanks,
    Suzy

Perhaps try a different bulb first. Then go back and check all your connections particularly at the light where the vibration from the fan could cause the flicker. You could try jumpering the receiver leaving the light on long enough to check it. If you get a steady light going around the receiver, likely it is bad.

Thanks Labman. I'll give your suggestions a try. Also, the light flickers when the fan is not on as well, so I doubt it's a vibration caused effect.
