hi, I am trying to remove this Hampton bay fan. I have attached pictures of before and after of this unit. I am unable to figure out how to remove the canopy from the ceiling. As you can see there was no rod used to connect the fan with canopy.
I have tried to twist the canopy in both direction as well as try to break it using hammer, but it's made up of metal
I am not sure if I need to go into attic to figure out, whats going on there. Any help/suggestion?
No need to go to te attic. Can you take one more picture straight from the side so I can see between the motor and the canopy? Carefully inspect and attempt to pry the outer most ring of the canopy. Sometimes these are just friction fit rings which are covering 3 screws holding the canopy.

Hi, I tried to pry the outermost ring, using a flat screw driver but it won't buzz. If you are sure that it's the way to do it, than I can hit it hard.
No not sure so don't hit it. Many fans employ a ring to hide the mounting screws but not all. Try my last link and see if you can get installation instructions from King of Fans.
Usually the part closest to the ceiling twists off and uncovers the screws. It may be on really tight, try some WD40. Does it feel like plastic? JUST the part closest to the ceiling?
