Grounding and Earthing

This confuses me... Sometimes it is called grounding and sometimes it is called earthing..can anyone explain further...which is which?

Which country are you located? That will have an effect on the word that is used.

"Ground"is the term used in the US, "earth" is a British term. Not sure what they say in Canada?
