Floresent Dimmer?

What is the scoop on Floresent dimmers? I am hanging a chandalier and would like to consider the new energy saver bulbs, so, what are my issues if I use a dimmer?

tkrussell Electrical & Lighting Expert Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 4,561	The compact fluorescent lamps need to be dimmable, and then should work on a standard dimmer. Start with checking what is available for the lamp shape and base you chose, then check to see if that lamp is available for dimmers. Special fluorescent dimmers require the special dimming ballasts, for certain lamps, and are very expensive.
