electric baseboard heaters -wiring 1 thermostat to two heaters
I would like to heat my new garage with electric baseboard heaters.
The new garage is 20X24 feet. I would like to use only one 240V #12 2 wire circuit running two heaters at a total of 3800 watts. I plan to use 2 pole 20A breakers and 2c #12 wire.

I would like to have both heaters controlled by one wall mounted double pole thermostat.

How do I run the wire? So far I understand that I first run my one 240V line from my panel to the thermostat. Then I'm confused from what Ive been reading.

Do I run one line from thermostat to heater one, then from heater one a line to heater two, or can I wire both heaters two lines (one to each heater) wired from the thermostat. Once the sequence is determined what are the wiring details.

    Thanks for your help

Bring the feed to the thermostat first. The stat will be a 2 pole also. Be sure the feed connects to the Line of the stat. From this point on you have two options. You can feed to one heater, then to another. Or you can leave the stat with two cables, one to each heater alone.

These wires will connect to the Load of the stat.

With option #1, you have two cables in the stat outlet box, with option #2 you have 3 cables. Be sure the box you use is large enough to handle the 2 or 3 cables. If you use a 4 in square box with a single gang mudring you will be fine for both options.
