Confused in PA

I am trying to install a new double bulb light fixture in our garage ceiling. The fixture has two black wires, two white wires and a green wire (one black and one white coming from each of the two bulb sockets).

The ceiling unit has two white wires twisted together, two black wires twisted together (actually they are black and white, if that matters), and one pink & white wire.

I have connected the fixture's black wires to the ceiling's black wires (all together) and done the same with the white wires. I also connected the green wire to the pink/white wire.

The light goes on when I turn the ciruit breaker back on but the wall switch does not turn the light off! That is the problem -- the light fixture stays on and will not turn off.

There are two wall switches, and I tried flipping both in different combinations. The switch is fine. It worked with the last fixture.

It also does not matter if the green - pink/white wires are disconnected.

Help!?

I think the pink may be the switched leg. Should defintiely not be the ground, so disconnect the green from it.

I think the fixture needs to go fixture-black to ceiling pink/white twisted, and fixture-white to ceiling two whites twisted.

The green needs to go to either a green or bare wire in the ceiling box, or if the box is metal, then attached to the box under a screw.
