    Changing hanging light bulb
Our front porch light is a hanging light and I cannot find a telescoping pole that will grasp the bulb. When I push up, the fixture moves up. How can I change a bulb on a hanging lamp?

There aren't any ways around this, you need to climb up there. How did you put the bulb in the last time?

A lot depends on how high the ceiling is and what is below it. We get a lot of calls to access 18' to 22' ceilings and have found one of the best ways is to use a Little Giant Skyscraper ladder.

Ours will range from about 12' tall to 21' tall allowing for about a 24' reach.

These ladders are big, heavy, and expensive about 800.00 – 900.00 and generally takes two men to move them around and set them up. Consequently the service calls are a set at a 350.00 minimum but lower than the cost of setting up scaffolding or an aerial lift.

I have a large glass off-white dome covered hanging light fixture that attaches to a brass finial and then hangs down from another cover piece that attaches to the top of the ceiling of porch. I thought the glass would eventually unscrew from the finial,
Or relase with pressure grips but it just keeps spinning. There are 4 tiny screw nuts on the top cover plate, but it doesn't make sense to have the release up there for the bulb. Help?

I have a room approx 25 x 30 floor space with a 24' high ceiling over half of it. My painter said there is a ton of heat being trapped up there so I bought 2 ceiling fans and want to know at what height they should be installed. And should one be higher than the other. They are 52" each.
